DESCRIPTION:


SECU Family House is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization into their next phase of growth. Their current, long-time, well-respected Executive Director is retiring in early 2026.


The Executive Director provides strategic leadership on a day-to-day basis for the SECU Family House. The ED is responsible for the overall financial, operational, and relationship management of the SECU Family House. Working in collaboration with the Board of Directors, the ED oversees short- and long-term objectives and operations of the facilities, builds relationships with volunteers, staff, patients and guests, and maintains and cultivates relationships with community, corporate and government groups.


Current considerations of SECU Family House include how to better meet the growing demand for their services in the wake of changing Medicaid coverage and general increases in the cost of medical care.


The ideal candidate will:

· Be an experienced leader and change agent

· Have significant leadership experience in the nonprofit sector

· Be passionate about the mission of SECU Family House

· Have a Bachelor’s degree or other advanced degree or relevant experience

· Have a willingness to grow and develop staff members

· Be a servant leader

· Be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously, handle emergency situations and complex concepts and problems

· Communicate clearly, concisely and diplomatically with a variety of audiences

· Have extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising/philanthropy

· Be driven to provide top-quality care and services to people who are experiencing great levels of personal and familial stress

· Lead with compassion and empathy

· Possess financial and budgeting experience

· Have knowledge of Winston-Salem and the Triad community (desired)

· Professionally represent the SECU Family House to external constituencies, including guests, donors, volunteers, and others

· Be proficient and self-sufficient with computer programs as well as donor database software


The Executive Director will supervise the Director of Development and Director of Finance and Administration and lead a staff team of 15-20 professionals and paraprofessionals onsite at the house on Baldwin Lane in Winston-Salem.
