IDEA Award
The AFP NC Triad Chapter's IDEA Award recognizes an individual, organization or program that is committed to the ideals of inclusion, diversity, equity and access in philanthropic giving. Through personal or organizational leadership and commitment, the recipient recognizes the unique customs, culture, history and legacy of diversity in the Triad and creates opportunities to reflect that diversity in supporting the work of area non-profits.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser
This award honors an individual or family who demonstrates outstanding leadership and skills in coordinating and motivating groups of donors and volunteers for fundraising projects in our community, making a measurable impact on community philanthropy.

Outstanding Fundraising Professional
This award honors an outstanding individual fundraising professional and AFP member whose leadership exemplifies ethical and effective professional practice and whose performance enhances the philanthropic resources of the organization for which he or she serves. Nominees demonstrate strong commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism, and continuing education, and have actively worked as a professional fundraiser for at least 10 years prior to nomination.

Outstanding Business in Philanthropy
This award honors a business — regardless of size — that demonstrates outstanding community commitment through philanthropic support and the encouragement and motivation of others, both inside and outside of the corporation, to take leadership roles in philanthropic and community involvement. Please note: businesses with corporate-funded foundations must apply through the Outstanding Philanthropic Organization nomination process.

Outstanding Philanthropic Organization
This award honors a civic organization, corporate or private foundation, grant-making service organization, donor circle, or affinity group that demonstrates outstanding philanthropic commitment to the nonprofit organization(s) or larger community it supports. This organization should be a role model of philanthropic activity serving many segments of the community.

Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy
This award recognizes an individual (under the age 21) or youth organization where a majority of members and/or leaders are under the age 21 and whose philanthropic efforts (through fundraising and direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteering, and/or community leadership) demonstrate the spirit of philanthropy and set an example for others to follow. The nominee demonstrates an outstanding commitment to community service.

Outstanding Emerging Philanthropist
This award recognizes an individual (age 22-40) or organization where a majority of members and/or leaders are between ages of 22 and 40, for exceptional generosity and civic responsibility by demonstrating significant philanthropic contributions within the larger community. The nominee’s generosity and leadership should motivate and engage others.
