DESCRIPTION:


Under the supervision of the Vice President of Philanthropy, Monarch’s Annual Fund Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to cultivate, solicit, and steward a base of mid-level donors through multi-channel fundraising efforts, including direct mail, email, phone appeals, and online giving as well as direct donor interaction. Primary goals of the position are to achieve annual fundraising targets, increase donor retention and feed major gift and planned giving pipelines.


Job Description

o Creates and manages multi-channel fundraising efforts (print, digital, phone, and social media and direct asks) that support donor retention, renewal, and acquisition of annual fund donors.

o Manages a portfolio of mid-level donors and works with the Director of Philanthropy to determine solicitation strategies for increased engagement and giving opportunities for individual, corporate, community and faith-based organization donors of up to $5,000.

o Manages direct mail and online giving campaigns, including development of appeals and acknowledgements; sets parameters for list generation and segmentation; oversees print, mail, and fulfillment timelines with outside vendors.

o Assesses Annual Fund donors’ giving history and philanthropic capacity to create and build pipeline between annual, major and planned giving.

o Participates in regular prospect strategy and portfolio review sessions.

o Participates in Monarch fundraising and donor stewardship events.

o Researches current and prospective donors through wealth screening tools, and compiles briefings for self and leadership.

o Coordinates department-wide stewardship and recognition efforts of current donors to retain and encourage repeat and increased giving year-over-year.

o Utilizes direct response communication and fundraising tools (direct mail, email, website) to inform, engage, and connect as well as solicit current, lapsed, and prospective donors. Monitors, reports, and analyzes outcomes.

o Stays current on annual giving best practices and maximizes use of data and other resources to make strategic recommendations and implementations.

Minimum Qualifications

o Three years of experience in fundraising or related field, preferably with a healthcare or related nonprofit organization or bachelor’s degree and two years of applicable experience.

o Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate information to the public.

o Ability to exercise sound judgment independently when responding to inquiries and interacting with donors, volunteers, staff, and vendors.

o Skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously and remain cognizant of deadlines and schedules.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Canva or other design programs, and email systems like Constant Contact.

o Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Bloomerang, and/or other fundraising databases.

o Willingness to work remotely, occasional evenings and weekends as needed, and travel within North Carolina; must have a valid driver’s license.
