Stories from the Road

Michelle Schneider, VP & Chief Philanthropy Officer, Cone Health

Monthly Meeting and Deep Dive Session — Structuring your Major Giving Program for Results

Michelle's 30+ year career has been a journey, one that has taken many roads. Some of those roads led to significant contributions, others to places where poverty and philanthropy collide, all of them to a profound desire to leave the world a better place.

Her stories will keep you grounded in the major gift work that transforms families, organizations, and communities including the work she is doing with Mae Douglas. Mae currently serves as the Chair of the Cone Health Board of Trustees. The lunch presentation will be set up as a panel with Mae answering questions about her recent gift to Cone Health. Mae received our chapter’s Outstanding Philanthropist, Greensboro Award in 2022. Learn more about Mae’s contributions here: 2022_Cone_Health_Philanthropy_-_Giving_Effect (windows.net)

Register for both parts of this special day! During our regular lunch session, Michelle will share her experiences from a career managing vibrant major gifts programs.

In the extended workshop, Michelle will guide us as we implement best practices to create a major giving program structure that helps you stay focused on day-to-day activities that produce results. At the end of the session, you'll understand how to build relationships that advance your work, both within your organization and with your donors.

  • The extended session is FREE to NC Triad AFP Members with registration required.
  • Each Chapter Member may register one guest to accompany them for the lunch and extended session at the discounted rate of $15.
