A traditional and static “strategic plan” often struggles to keep up with an ever-changing landscape. Instead, we will consider a strategic cycle that is change-ready,  process-oriented, and people-focused. This workshop will take a different approach to strategic planning. Alongside input from the community members most impacted by the challenges you are trying to solve will together point us toward community change worthy of donor investment. When we focus on process and people, rather than product and power, will will create longer-lasting and more impactful community change.

Katheryn Northington began her career as a high school math teacher and, after a stint in the investment industry, has served nonprofits in varying capacities for over 23 years. Since 2016, Katheryn has served nonprofits as a facilitator and consultant across a wide range of service sectors, including arts and culture, education, child welfare, mental health, and human services.

Katheryn believes that complex problems are best solved by a group of committed people, together, who share diverse perspectives rooted in a variety of lived experiences, listen to the voices of community members directly impacted by the challenge at hand, and then apply evidence-based approaches within the context of that unique community.
