Description: Major donors are a critical part of every organization’s fundraising mix. Developing a major donor program can be a daunting task, especially if you’re starting from scratch. Lauren and David will walk through a case study of Healing Transitions’ development and launch of their first formal major donor program.

Lauren was born and raised in Virginia, but made Raleigh home after attending NC State – Go Pack! Like many in the nonprofit world, Lauren accidentally fell into development work and immediately realized this was her passion. She's worked for nonprofits in Virginia and North Carolina and has consulted with dozens of nonprofits through her own business and now through Angel Oak Creative. Her key experiences include annual fund development, major gifts, grant writing, and capital campaigns. Lauren also enjoys developing successful fundraising events and getting granular with data.

David has more than 25 years of public relations and marketing experience, with the last 10 focused on the nonprofit sector with Angel Oak Creative. In his career David worked with global PR agencies serving clients such as Lenovo, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Duke Energy, Red Hat, Bayer and other recognized brands, as well as a stint at IBM. At Angel Oak, David is responsible for business development and senior-level strategy, messaging, branding and counsel for its clients.

Angel Oak Creative is marketing firm that serves nonprofits exclusively.
