About the Event

Participants will learn how to build confidence, set clear expectations, and create relational opportunities that help board members become authentic ambassadors for their organization’s mission. This session will emphasize the importance of building boards that reflect the communities organizations serve and engaging members in ways that value diverse perspectives, networks, and lived experiences. We will discuss how inclusive board recruitment and clear expectations can broaden participation in fundraising and strengthen relationships with a wider range of donors and community partners.


Derek D. Alley, CFRE

Derek is a graduate of Auburn University. His 30+ years in the development/fundraising arena have afforded him significant experience beneficial to the management of all facets of the development/fundraising process, including strategic planning studies, fundraising feasibility studies, and capital campaign direction.
