Outstanding Fundraising Professional

Michelle Schneider is a dedicated fundraising professional with an illustrious career enhancing the philanthropic fabric of the Triad.
She is an alumna of UNC Greensboro with a BS in Social Work and a Master’s in Public Administration and has held a series of professional fundraising roles with increasing responsibility during the past 25 years. The impact of philanthropy and donors are her passion. She has the heart of a fundraiser even while holding administrative roles.
She currently serves as Chief Philanthropy Officer and Vice President at Cone Health, where she led her team to a record fundraising year in 2020, raising more than $4.2 million. She also took a central role in obtaining PPE needed for front-line medical staff during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, working with textile, fabrication, and 3D printing companies to ensure that Cone Health staff could care for their patients safely.
She has also served as a fundraiser at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro and UNCG, where she led the Students First campaign, which raised $100 million. In addition, she served as senior counsel for Capital Development Services, where she helped to enhance the work of a long list of non-profits, including Greensboro Science Center, Greensboro YMCA, SECU Family House of Winston-Salem, United Way of Greater Greensboro, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro, and many more.
