Sr. Director of Development

Full-time Position

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is looking for a cause-driven leader to become the Senior Director of Development, leading our Annual Impact Fund. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, high-energy, results-driven leaders that role models fundraising best practices. They will be responsible for successfully implementing the Association’s annual philanthropic goals as an association leader, directly and indirectly, across the association footprint. This includes supervision of regional Directors of Development, working with executive directors on guiding branch efforts for donor asks, guiding volunteer trainings, assisting in storyteller recruitment, training, and engagement; accurate record keeping; donor recognition and stewardship.

The successful candidate will be a visible, frontline leader who primarily works to model best practices by building, cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, members, volunteers, program participants, and local businesses. The candidate is an assertive coach who consistently partners with branch and association leadership to deliver an exceptional experience for donors and volunteers, plus targeted organizational results. The candidate is a strong communicator who listens effectively and speaks to the heart of what matters most to donors, storytellers, and employees. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, highly relational and have advanced critical thinking skills.

The Senior Director of Development is a capable project manager who is able to quickly switch between front line service and implementation of strategic initiatives. Works as a member of the Association Advancement Team while supporting branch efforts. The Senior Director of Development implements and executes daily processes with the heart of “helping all people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body.”
