Director of Development

YMCA of Northwest North Carolina, Winston-Salem, NC

Full-time Position

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is looking for a cause-driven leader to become the Director of Development. The Director of Development is a charismatic, high-energy leader responsible for successfully implementing the Association’s philanthropic goals as a fundraising lead for up to 3 branches. This includes working with executive directors on guiding branch efforts for donor asks, guiding volunteer trainings, assisting in storyteller recruitment, training, and engagement; accurate record-keeping; donor recognition/ retention and Major Gift, Capital Projects, and Endowment Relationships.

Successful candidate will be a visible, frontline leader who primarily works to model best practices by building, cultivating and stewarding relationships with members, volunteers, program participants, local businesses and donors. The candidate is an assertive coach who consistently partners with branch and association leadership to deliver an exceptional experience for members, volunteers and donors, plus targeted organizational results. The candidate is a strong communicator who listens effectively and speaks to the heart of what matters most to donors, storytellers, and employees.

The Director of Development is a capable project managers who is able to quickly switch between front line service and implementation of strategic initiatives. Works as a member of the Association Advancement Team while supporting branch efforts. Director of Development implements and executes daily processes with the heart of “helping all people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body.”
