THE POSITION:
The Director of Development & Strategic Partnerships serves as Dream Center's lead fundraising professional and is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the organization's mission and long-term sustainability.
This highly visible role works directly with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, donors, foundations, churches, corporations, and community leaders to secure financial resources and strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will be a relationship builder, community connector, and ambassador for Dream Center throughout Forsyth County.
This position is ideal for an emerging fundraising leader, development professional, business development professional, community engagement specialist, or partnership builder who is ready to take ownership of an organization's fundraising efforts and help shape its future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Development & Revenue Generation
Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals.
Build and manage relationships with individual donors, foundations, churches, corporations, and community partners.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at all giving levels.
Lead annual giving initiatives, sponsorship development, major gift efforts, grant support activities, and fundraising events.
Establish fundraising goals, performance metrics, and revenue forecasts.
Track and report fundraising performance to leadership and the Board.
Community Partnerships & External Relations
Serve as a visible representative of Dream Center throughout the community.
Build strategic partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, churches, foundations, and community stakeholders.
Attend networking events, community meetings, donor gatherings, and fundraising activities.
Identify opportunities to expand Dream Center's visibility, influence, and funding base.
Board & Leadership Collaboration
Partner closely with the Executive Director and Board members to identify, cultivate, and steward donors and strategic partners.
Support board fundraising efforts by providing tools, coaching, and donor engagement opportunities.
Prepare fundraising updates and reports for leadership and board meetings.
Donor Stewardship & Communications
Develop meaningful donor engagement and stewardship strategies.
Coordinate donor communications, impact stories, thank-you efforts, and funding updates.
Ensure donors understand the measurable impact of their investment in Dream Center's mission.
Data & Performance Management
Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising activity within the CRM.
Monitor fundraising trends, donor retention, and revenue performance.
Utilize data and insights to improve fundraising effectiveness and donor engagement.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
8-10 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, business development, sales, partnership development, community engagement, or a related field.
Demonstrated success building relationships and generating revenue, sponsorships, donations, or strategic partnerships.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community groups, churches, corporations, or foundations is preferred.
Familiarity with CRM systems and donor management tools.
Passion for serving others and advancing Dream Center's mission.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid position with significant in-person community engagement responsibilities. Success in this role requires regular meetings with donors, corporate partners, foundations, churches, volunteers, and community leaders throughout the Triad region
