George Hoyle and Kathleen Kelly are true leaders who model voluntarism and the philanthropic behavior they hope others will emulate. Founding partners of Compass Financial Partners, the couple transforms personal success into meaningful community support through leadership and advocacy.

George is a fixture at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A member of UNCG’s 1987 Men’s Soccer National Championship team, he served on the Spartan Club Executive Committee from 2002 to 2012, including two years as chair. He and Kathleen established a scholarship in men’s soccer, which allows Spartan Athletes to excel on the field and in the classroom. They are also generous donors to the Spartan Athletics Scholarship Fund and the Men’s Basketball Enrichment Fund, and co-chair the Spartan Athletics Campaign for Champions.

George currently sits on UNC Greensboro’s Board of Trustees and is a member of the steering committee for the University’s upcoming $200 million capital campaign. At her alma mater, Wake Forest University, Kathleen has served as a member of the Board of Visitors and Alumni Council. Kathleen also served on the Board of Visitors for Greensboro College and is currently the vice chair for Winston-Salem State University’s Board of Trustees. She serves on WSSU’s Board of Trustees of the Endowment Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee, and chairs the Governance, Advocacy, Trusteeship, and Ethics Committee. The couple also support countless other local non-profits through their time and resources.
